Privacy Policy
Effective Date:
Domestic-Freight.com (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our website and mobile apps (collectively, the “Services”).
1. Who We Are
We are a Bahamas-based delivery platform that connects individuals, businesses, and drivers for local and national deliveries. Our Services are primarily accessed through our mobile apps and website.
2. What Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you provide (e.g., name, email, phone number, login credentials, pickup & drop-off addresses, delivery details, recipient information, notes, and business account details). Payment information is processed by our payment partners and is not stored by us unless explicitly stated.
- Driver information (e.g., driver profile details, vehicle type/capacity, and—where required—verification documents such as license copy, passport copy, police certificate, and proof of address). We may also collect payout details (e.g., bank name and account identifiers) to process driver earnings and payouts.
- Delivery content (e.g., package details and, if provided, package photos uploaded for delivery proof and support).
- Automatic data (e.g., device information, app diagnostics, log files, and usage data). Our apps may use push notification tokens to deliver order updates and security alerts.
- Location data: We may collect precise location when you enable it in the app to support live tracking, navigation, and delivery routing. See Section 3A for details.
For Senders/Customers:
- Pickup & drop-off addresses, package info, notes.
- Contact details for delivery coordination.
For Drivers:
- Profile details, vehicle info, availability.
- Live GPS location during active deliveries (if enabled).
For Businesses:
- Business contact info, billing details, subscriptions.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use precise location data for advertising.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Services.
- Match deliveries with drivers and provide live tracking.
- Provide routing, navigation support, and delivery ETAs.
- Process subscriptions, invoices, and payments.
- Prevent fraud, enforce policies, and maintain safety.
- Send service communications, support responses, and alerts.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3A. Location Data & Live Tracking
- We may collect precise GPS location when location permission is granted.
- Drivers: when a driver is actively handling a delivery (e.g., accepted / in progress), we may collect and transmit location updates to enable live tracking, routing, and safety features. On supported devices, this may continue while the app is in the background to keep tracking accurate during an active delivery.
- Customers/Businesses/Admins: during an active delivery, we may display the driver’s approximate position and ETA to the relevant parties associated with that delivery.
- Tracking is intended to run only during active delivery operations and should stop when the delivery is completed/cancelled or the driver ends the delivery flow (subject to technical limitations and device settings).
- You can control location permissions in your device settings. Some driver features may not work properly without location access during active deliveries.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable (e.g., GDPR), we process your data based on one or more of the following: consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests, legal obligation, and vital interests (e.g., safety).
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data type.
Delivery history, invoices, and payout records may be retained for operational, accounting, and legal purposes. Driver verification documents and payout details are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for verification, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal compliance.
7. International Transfers
Your information may be processed outside your country. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
8. Your Rights & Choices
- Access, correction, deletion, and portability (where applicable).
- Opt out of marketing communications (where offered) at any time.
- Control location permissions in your device settings. Drivers may be required to keep location enabled only while accepting or completing active deliveries to support live tracking, navigation, and safety.
- You may request account deletion by contacting us at the email below. Some records (e.g., invoices, delivery history, payouts) may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work continually to improve our safeguards.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the “Effective Date” above. Material changes will be communicated as required by law.
